Y'all are crazy for burning down the forum in favor of this vibecoded-looking site.

Hello, this is the Operations Team.

We have read all the comments in this thread. However, simply saying “we are reading them” doesn’t convey enough, so we will start by reporting what we have already fixed.

■ Items Improved

  • We have fixed an issue where posts would display entirely in Japanese when opened in browsers other than the supported languages (Japanese, English, Chinese). Going forward, the original text will be displayed as is. FreezeChocolate’s diagnosis that “JP is loaded when no translation is available” was exactly right. Thank you.

■ Currently Improving

  • We are currently adjusting the strictness of spam detection, such as cases where copying and pasting posts results in them being flagged as suspiciously fast input.
  • Regarding the unclear design and top page, we are organizing improvement proposals as a team to determine the most desirable form.
  • We are also working to address the shortage of threads.

We are discussing solutions while ensuring we do not infringe on the rights of past assets.
We will share progress at as frequent intervals as possible, so please bear with us a little longer.

I also have an account on the RPG Maker Forums and, as a user, I wish to empathize with everyone’s feelings.

It may take some time, but we will strive for improvement.

※ The original text is written in Japanese. If there are any points that are difficult to understand due to machine translation, please let us know. We will take care to avoid this in future posts.

It’s great you are improving this site, but truly all we want is to keep access to the previous archive. What is being done on that front?

Hello from the Operations Team.

We apologize for the posts coming in so quickly.

We are currently adjusting the archiving methods for the community assets on RPG Maker Forums and the Tsukuru WEB Forum.
We have narrowed down the specific candidate measures, so we are providing this update at this time.

We will make every effort to provide further updates as soon as possible, prioritizing this matter.
We appreciate your patience.

Question, isn’t that Knowledge Finder based on the current forums existing or are you saying it will be archived so this tool can find this data later, after the web forums are deleted?

I support you. I support you.

I don’t know why this isn’t marked as spam.

Not to mention, older RPG Maker programs (like RPG Maker 2000 and RPG Maker 2003) still exist through Steam, so GGG must still see value in the older RPG Maker programs.

Following up on my earlier question:

This right here the RMW forums had quite a bit of support for 2000/2003 as well as XP, VX, Ace too. Plus i’ve seen quite a bit of users still use the older makers as well as the newer ones.

Though RPGMaker 95 is still lost to the mists of time. (I’d totally buy it if they put it up on Steam, if only for the right to use and remix its assets. Though, that also means that if there’s an existing asset pack somewhere that is specifically the RM95 assets repackaged for newer Makers, I’d be interested in that too.)

Out of context from their other post, I think this person means another forum, not RMWeb. Project1 is the name of a chinese forum (asked a friend about it, that knows it exists but never was active there). I have no idea how good or bad it is tho.

RPG Maker 95 might be the one exception to the rule, but in comparison to 2000 and later RPG Makers, RM95 might be too archaic for game designing (even as a hobby) and the only thing out of it that may be potentially good would be the assets, which could be introduced/revived in original form and/or in enhanced form through a DLC that’s dedicated to the RM95 assets.

Note that 95 is technically not the only “lost” RPGMaker – 2000 and VX don’t seem to be available anymore either.

There’s probably good reasons for that (2003 and VX Ace are presumable 100% backwards compatible and objectively better), but still.

literally no matter how this situation is approached, it will not change the fact that this is a torching of the library of Alexandria. unless you somehow archive literally everything from the old forum, this wont work. many of these engines are from the early 2000s and 2010s. so much of the stuff made for them, is thus, from those years too. even if everyone migrated to here, you would still be unable to fully build back everything from the old. so many of the tutorials, guides, assets, scripts/plugins made for the old rpgmakers are from developers who have either strayed away from rpgmaker, went inactive, or are not here for various other reasons. and even if they were here, its impossible for them to rebuild and repost every single thing theyve made. a trove of information this large simply just cannot be “rebuilt” in a new platform

Actually, from research, RPG Maker VX is still available through Komodo Plaza and Steam despite VX Ace being the superior version of VX.

As for RPG Maker 2000, it looks like that it’s Steam exclusive, but it still exists despite RPG Maker 2003 being the better version of the program and despite the existence of the RPG Maker 2000 Asset DLC for RPG Maker MZ.

That is something i’m wondering about since we did get some other DLC from the other rpg makers.
I know the RPG Maker 3 (PS2) DLC. As well as the DS, Fes, and i think there was another one.

There’s still a bit missing from main series. I would love to see stuff from PS1 RPG Maker which got me started with game making especially there were so many creative ways to make things.

EDIT: Now i remember it’s the SRPG Maker Asset Pack MZ

Huh! I stand corrected!

And it seems I actually have both 2000 and 2003 somehow? I only remember buying one of them though, and I definitely only have one of them installed… how’d that happen?

Maybe what I bought was actually a bundle of the two of them…

I personally would like to see XP tilesets and VX/VX Ace tilesets being converted to MV/MZ format; most of the XP assets and VX/VX Ace assets have been revamped for RMMV and RMMZ, but there are still the tilesets that need to be converted and the same is true for the Samurai Pack. I am aware that RMMZ will accept 32x32 tilesets thanks to the Tile Size setting and don’t mind doing the tileset revamping myself, but to me, it would be a time saver if there was a DLC for the tilesets from XP, VX/VX Ace, and Samurai Pack all converted and updated for MV/MZ.

I recall looking at the tilesets from one of the Ruby makers (don’t remember which one exactly) and noticing that it is, essentially, exactly the same as the MV tilesets in spirit. That is, it has the exact same set of things in it, or pretty close.

Still, that only applies to the core RTP – it could be nice to see other asset packs “upscaled” as well. (In quotes because it likely wouldn’t be a literal upscale, rather redrawn at the larger size.)

Definitely either VX or VXAce. Or both. VXAce’s tilesets are literally VX++.

XP is unique in every way. And this is not me being an XP fanboy. You’ll never find interior body tiles in MZ (unless you make them yourself)!
