I prompted some alt styles just to check how it would look. I think it looks lovely.
And it wouldn’t take much time to make it. At least as alternative theme. Just a couple windows and background.

Nice find!
This would be amazing..
It does make website more lively and warmer, doesn’t it?
Certainly feels less sterile and soulless!
Oh well if we talk about modding the site, I did this using Stylus, a browser extension.
These were my changes, in case anyone is interested
html .background-container {
background: url(https://content.rpgmaker.net/content/users/6423/locker/xp1600a.jpg);
clip-path: none;
background-size: cover;
}
:root {
--secondary: #1a1a1ac0;
}
Basically just changed the background. Depending on your personal taste you might want to set your own background, and/or change the opacity. I just like seeing the RMXP characters peeking through the text lol. But yeah for the actual forum design it might be better to make a background more suited to its layout, with elements to the sides instead of just sticking my favorite art there to make it cozy for me. ![]()
Feels good to be back.
Hopefully in this forum, we won’t be deleted, suspended, and banned for having opinions.
I already like the layout better than RMW.
Keep up the good work GGG!
IT really easy to make this website better. Just improve categories and theme. Add a couple of features. Website performs very well and fast, so performance is great.
I can’t express everything I’ve learned and all the help I’ve received using the forum. It was one of the main reasons I started on the platform in the first place. A robust community of people helping each other, exchanging valuable items, plugins, answering questions… it will be a huge loss for the community.
Its a loss, maybe you should do what I did, download every asset you need from the old forum while its still available.
What was your name on RMW when you got banned, if I may ask?
I don’t think anyone gets banned for having opinions, just either inhumane opinions or they don’t know when to deescalate an argument.
A lot of people have been banned on the old forums for arbitrary reasons, myself included, that’s why the issue just keeps coming up, it’s not coming up out of nowhere.
But… unless you can be more specific about the situations of your ban, it’s impossible to tell.
For me it was 8 years ago for “Frankenspriting” in which I would cut up sprites, create something new and redistribute and gave credit, but it was treated like I murdered somebody or something. Just being honest. I thought the situation was treated too harshly. But yeah it doesn’t matter, I don’t hold a grudge or whatever, but it’s kind of been treated as a permanent death sentence or something “You’re an art thief!” etc. Super stupid but that’s what happened 8 years ago.
But also more recently with the AI stuff, if I develop anything with AI, it’s like they all come jumping out of the bushes to say how AI steals everything and that anything I built with AI assistance is automatically slop, etc. I keep making stuff and trying to share, but it turns into everybody calling me a criminal and a thief at every turn when I’m not.
I mean, not gonna lie that does sound like art theft. Whether a permaban is warranted is debatable of course.
Doesn’t sound like theft to me. Seems really overblown. Like I’d like some real evidence that anything I’ve actually done harms anybody else, the answer is clearly “no”, if anything the opposite, I’m just there to help, and I will work for free. I don’t do it for the money, but it’s a threat to those who require a cash payout for everything they do or build, etc. That’s the real issue honestly. Somebody who works for free and gets quality product out there is a threat to those who want cash payout for everything they build, etc. So they actively suppress.
Thing is, I basically did the exact same thing. Heck, some users even showed me how to change color of hair, eyes and clothes of existing assets. As well as to tranplant elf ears on a human portrait to make portraits for some elf characters. Did not get banned for it.
Though I did only post screenshots of the game showing the result. I did not post the edited images themselves. Sometimes you are allowed to edit images and use them, but if you redistribute the edited assets on an official forum, that can in some cases be a violation of the terms set by the original artist.
Are you sure that is not why they banned you?
It’s no use pondering over the details. They don’t matter.
When they decided they just didn’t want someone in their space, they’ll make up a random reason to justify it.
A sign they would not be acting in good faith & were aiming for a ban prior to the circumstance that popped up. Is that they would not warn a person that what they were doing was wrong to the point, that continued persisting in the action will result in a ban.
They would not warn the person, because if they did- the person would stop. If they stopped, they would remain in their space (which is not what they wanted, and hence they did not warn and directly banned)
It really depends on the terms of use on the resources that were remixed. It’s not theft if they all said “you can edit these and post your edits”. But if they didn’t say that and you went ahead and posted the edits anyway and kept posting the edits even after being warned then it’d be natural to get banned.
This is just an example, nothing to do with what Psychronic actually did (since I know no details of that).
It’s unfortunately common for people to not tell the entire story so they tell a story that makes it sound like they were arbitrarily wronged. Game dev spaces these days are extremely harsh with originality and that’s not easy to negotiate
