Apparently, you (GGG) announced you are going to try to do preservation and are working on it, according to your twitter: RPGMakerSeries on X: "Thank you for sharing your valuable feedback to help protect the community and everyone’s important assets. We are currently working on how to archive the community assets from RPG Maker Forums. We will do our best to provide an update as soon as possible. https://t.co/6sHmiBORJv" / X
First you say it is legally impossible due to the copyrights being with the original post creators, but now that there is backlash, you are gonna do it?
So which was it? If it was a legal problem, what changed that let you suddenly not have that problem anymore? If it wasn’t a legal problem, why didn’t you do it to begin with?
The community deserves a straight answer on what happened here, because without one, how can we trust that you’ll even try to do this right? Or that you will actually keep up anything you do archive.
There is a lot of silence from both you and from Komodo. And generally what that tells me is that one side or the other didn’t have a lot of choice, and both are bound by partner agreements to not talk trash about the other.
Considering which side could suddenly turn on a dime and make a different decision, it is becoming very obvious to me that you are the side that had a choice.
