Visustella Frontview Help

I’m currently using Visustella Frontview UI. One of the things it allows for is changing the player character image color hue based on death, damage, healing, and skill usage. It doesn’t allow for anything else.

Does anyone know of a way, a plugin, or a code that can allow me to tint the character image hue based on a particular state/status effect.

(I came from RPG Maker forum and this is my first post so I hope I can get as good of feedback as I did there.)

VisuStella’s Visual State Effects is the plugin that does per state tinting. It adds a <State Tone: red, green, blue, gray> notetag that goes on the state itself, with the colour values running from -255 to 255 and gray from 0 to 255, and if a battler has several tinted states on at once the highest priority one wins. That same plugin also has <Visual Opacity: x> and a rainbow hue shift if you want other looks tied to a state.

What I don’t know is whether the Frontview UI portrait actually picks it up. Those effects are written against the battler sprite, and the docs call out that some of them don’t reach UI elements like gauges and state icons, so the portrait might fall on either side of that line. Fast way to find out is a throwaway state with something extreme like <State Tone: 255, -255, -255, 0> and seeing if the portrait goes red.

If it turns out Frontview UI doesn’t respond to it, VisuStella’s own Discord is where I’d ask next, since both plugins are theirs and they’d know whether the portrait is hooked into the battler sprite at all.
