About Moving Locations and BGM

I have another question.

I created a test event where the player moves from Map A to Map B, an event starts, and then the player returns to Map A to continue the event. To prevent the BGM set for the event from switching back to the original BGM of Map A, I tried using the following commands:

The top image shows the commands for Map A.

The bottom image shows the commands for Map B.

With this setup, the original BGM played as intended, but it cuts out for a brief moment.

I would prefer for the music to play continuously without interruption. Is there a way to resolve this? I apologize if my explanation is unclear, but if anyone knows a solution, I would appreciate your help.

When the player lands back on Map A, the map plays its own BGM at that moment, and your Resume BGM runs a beat after it. I think that swap is the cut you’re hearing.

What I’d try is turning off Autoplay BGM in Map A’s map properties. With that off nothing takes over on arrival, so the event BGM keeps playing straight through the transfer. You probably won’t need the Save BGM and Resume BGM pair at all after that.

The tradeoff is Map A’s normal BGM then has to be started by an event, so you’d put a Play BGM at the end of your event and in whatever brings the player onto Map A the usual way. If that track is already the one playing, Play BGM leaves it alone instead of restarting it, so that side shouldn’t blip either.

Thank you for your reply.

As you suggested, I tried disabling the auto-play BGM, and it worked perfectly. Thank you!
