Aloha! I’m having issues trying to add a special move that targets a specific gender on a specific character. Currently using VisuMZ_1_ElementStatusCore as to assign gender between characters. Any way I can do it?
Thank you for your time. Hope you have a great day.
The Gender notetag only does something in the Note box of an actor or enemy. A Script conditional wants JavaScript that comes back true or false, so <Gender: Female> sitting in that box won’t evaluate to anything.
What behavior are you after exactly, the skill only being selectable on female targets, or selectable on anyone but only doing something when the target is female? And is that common event getting called from the skill’s effect list? That changes what “the target” refers to once you’re inside it.
I don’t have access to VisuStella trait set unfortunately. If you don’t need the trait set specifically for this, what I’d probably do is put a Female state on those battlers and check b.isStateAffected(x) in the skill’s damage formula, which works with no plugin at all.
I think ElementStatusCore has notetags for this so you don’t need a state. On the skill:
<Accuracy VS Male Trait: 0%>
That makes the action always miss anything tagged with the Male trait set, so none of its effects land. It keys off the trait name, so add one line for each gender trait set you don’t want it hitting.
Two things to watch. The hit type needs to be Physical or Magical, since Certain Hit skips the accuracy check entirely. And if you’d rather it connect but do nothing, <Damage VS Male Trait: 0%> zeroes the damage instead, though a state effect on the skill would still apply on top.
