Strata gives the player a rock face and two tools. Somewhere under it are fossils, relics, crystals or ore. Free a find completely before the face gives way and it is theirs. Push too hard and the face collapses, taking whatever is still buried.
The pick cuts deep at one spot. The hammer cuts wider but puts twice the stress on the face.
Every site is generated from a seed, and its stability comes from how a careful digger does on that exact site, so no site is impossible. Five grades set how forgiving it is.
