Jeenah's bestiary (SV Battlers for MZ)

Hello there ! Here i’ll be posting all my creations (Well, with the assistance of AI because i’m not very skilled in pixel art, and do not have 1000 hours to sink into it just to get good, so i’ll leave the big work to the AI’s and do the tweaking instead).

The second sprite i worked on was this one, but the AI had massive difficulties to design it, especially when it came to the frame-by-frame animations.

Despite the esthetic being stunning, it didn’t not go as good as i’d like it to be, so the AI definitely needs improvements, but it is exceptional to be able to generate that. And i cannot wait like 1 year ? I think in a year, we’ll be able to get shocking results.

THIS BATTLER WITH BONUS RESOURCES IS AVAILABLE HERE (FULL PACKAGE FREE) : Ethereal Ghost Knight animated SV Battler by Lawrence Disward

Then, we’ll have this Lizard-man soldier i generated, which i decided to transform into a proper battler right after because it was quite good looking. I was still experimenting, but found that the result was definitely better than my ghost knight.

Again, it’s a complete battler, but on this on i included more frames and other generations for more uses. Everything is animated, it is available here (FULL PACKAGE FREE) : Lizardman Soldier animated SV Battler (And resources) by Lawrence Disward

After that … I decided to go big again, and do some more experimentations, especially when it came to sizing, and basically creating a work flow that would match what i want to create.

So … Here we are, dinosaurs are cool, yes ? (For this one, it’ll require a lot of work on my part, because the resources are an absolute mess i didn’t sort, and i’d need to do new generations since i didn’t download the extended frames). There’s only a sprite sheet for RPG Maker MZ (Battler)

That’ll be the whole thing, for now. I have others i generated and finished, but again, only the SV Battlers are available. There’s also another (Paid) SV Battler on my itch.io (The very first i did), for 1 symbolic dollar :")

Because, those AI’s ain’t cheap LOL !

What i’m working on right now … And YES ! She DOES shoot, the bite animation for this Accro is also done, and is … Quite good :3

So she shoots, it bites !

I don’t know what image software you work in.
GIMP has a “Color to Alpha” tool that works like a chroma key filter for removing greenscreen backgrounds and such to transparency.
You can also reduce the color space, Indexing the number of colors to 255 or less. So if you want to use an image at different scales; it’s not blending and creating fuzzy new colors.

I hesitate to call resources made for rpg maker “pixel art” because it’s really just “Low Res” art that’s been giving a certain treatment.

As for AI Image Generators. They don’t produce images to scale. And their upscaled impressions of “Pixel Art” is full of artifacts and distortions. There’s some tricks you can do if you really want to generate “upscaled pixel art”, but since you’re downscaling everything anyways…idk, I think “what’s the point of doing it this way?” It’s like 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

The color to alpha doesn’t work properly, never did for me, the cut is never perfectly clean, even when messing with the settings.

So far, the site i’m using for that is better than gimp in terms of parameters. I’m still tinkering with the parameters and the workflow itself to be able to generate things perfectly.

Depending on what colors are on the sprite, i either use a red screen, or a green screen.

It was my mistake with the REX RIDER, should’ve go green, but the base background was green. When learning a new skill, there’s no choice but to experiment and find what offers the best results.

There’s also the issue of RPG Maker MZ limitations to only 3 frames, while with 6 or 8 frames, the animations would be definitely better, without a doubt. 10 frame animations with the software and AI i’m using are exceptionally good compared to those.

Sadly i’m not good programmer neither, there’s solution to make RPG MAKER use more frames, but it’s annoying to set up.

One of my last creations, still not up to the desired standards, even for me, but it’s not like i chose an easy assignment either. Like, lizard folk aren’t the most beloved “race” so the references aren’t numerous at all. If i used human sprites, i think the result would be way, way, way better !

I’m gonna experiment with some human based sprites, but i think the quality will be way higher.
