Tutorial: Leverage AI like ChatGPT and Gemini to learn Accu

About This Tutorial

Action Game Maker offers a wide variety of features. After learning the operations through this tutorial, you might find yourself unsure of what to do when you’re ready to create your own game.

While asking questions in GUILD or Discord is an option, there’s no guarantee you’ll receive a timely response.

You might also think about asking AI tools like ChatGPT or Gemini, but since Action Game Maker is a relatively new tool, it may be difficult to get sufficient answers without additional context.

However, with a bit of extra effort, you can use the “Export Visual Script for AI” feature in Action Game Maker to have chat-based AI assist you. This tutorial explains how to do that.

Steps

  1. Open any project.

  2. From the top-left menu, select Project > AI, then choose “Export Visual Script for AI”.

  3. The export process will run, and the results will be displayed.

  4. Open the output .ai folder using File Explorer (it is created within the currently open project’s folder).

  5. Attach the chat_guide.md file located directly inside the .ai folder to any chat-based AI. You are now ready.

  6. Tell the AI about the movements or behaviors you’d like to try implementing. It should provide suggestions on how to achieve them.

What is chat_guide.md?

chat_guide.md is essentially a manual that explains what Action Game Maker is and what features it offers, formatted specifically for AI understanding.

By providing this manual, even AIs unfamiliar with Action Game Maker can understand its specifics and provide relevant explanations.

Important Notes

  • To utilize new features added via updates, you must update chat_guide.md.
  • Each AI infers and generates responses based on its pre-existing knowledge of Godot combined with the content in chat_guide.md. Since these are merely educated guesses, incorrect answers may occasionally be provided.
  • The AI assumes you are using a service you have personally subscribed to; Action Game Maker itself does not include built-in AI. While it likely works with free-tier AIs, their limited memory capacity may result in less accurate responses.

Regarding Agent-Type AIs like Claude or Codex

This feature is compatible with chat-based AIs, but by using agent-type AIs, you can even have the AI write the visual scripts themselves. For more details on this, please refer to the following tutorial:
