[MZ] Hoist: Zelda style pick up and throw, poses made from your own sprites

Hoist is an RPG Maker MZ plugin for Zelda style pick up and throw. When the sheet loads, it generates the lift, carry, and throw poses in all four facings from your walking sprites, so there are no lift sprites to draw. Mark any event with the note tag <hoist> and the player can lift it, whether it is a tile or a character sheet frame.

A knight lifts a clay pot overhead, walks left and back with it held up, then throws it at a straw training dummy; the pot arcs over its shadow, shatters, and knocks the dummy flat

The throw arcs over a shadow, up to three tiles by default, stops short of walls, and splashes into water. Thrown objects break into pieces of their own picture, or land whole with <hoist: keep>. Anything marked <hoist target> that gets hit receives a self switch so its next page reacts. Sample objects include a pot, urn, crate, barrel, rock, bush, sack, and training dummy.

Keyboard, gamepad, mouse, and touch all work, and a save taken mid throw loads back mid throw. It is untested with pixel movement, VisuStella Events and Movement Core, or plugins that swap the player sprite sheet, which Hoist does while carrying.

The code, characters, objects, and ground were created with AI assistance. The plugin draws every pose from the walking sheet.

It is $6.99 in the itch Halloween sale until 4 November, regular price $9.99.
