Looking to hire an experienced RPG Maker MV/MZ Developer. The job in question is porting an Avatar: The Last Airbender inspired Tabletop RPG.

Hello everyone! I want to create a video game port of the Tabletop RPG that I created.
The gameplay would be simple, and it would resemble Pokemon’s simple gameplay.

Because this is a port, all of the information is already created.
We would likely create a demo first and foremost, so only a portion of the information within the book would be used.

Price is negotiable but will at least be $75 or higher.
I can answer any questions that one may have.

Hi, I am doing the same thing, porting homemade TTRPG project into RPG Maker. I have done 90% of the prototype on RPG Maker by myself for the demo part. Now I am hiring programmers and artists to help me with the demo and then I will try to secure funds from a publisher to work professionally on the game. If you need advice, I can help.

Its easy work, i’m actually more so offering to save time.

Not $75 for the whole thing, lol. I knew from the beginning that i’ll end up doing most of the work myself even if I do hire someone.

But no, not $75 for an entire game.

The way you’ve phrased your request makes it sound like:

  1. You’re going to pay in one lump sum.
  2. Although $75 is a minimum, the final negotiated price would probably be of a similar order of magnitude.

But paying in lump sum is quite unusual for this sort of thing, I believe, and $75 lump sum is extremely low, to the point that I doubt anyone would ever accept it (it’d work out to be well under the minimum wage, I believe).

If you can’t offer hourly pay for the duration of the job, I don’t think you’re likely to get any takers.

It definitely could have been worded better.
Also,$75 is only low if you assume that the work I have in mind will take a long time.
If it took them two hours, they’re making $34.50 an hour. That’s not bad money at all.
If it took them one hour, then they’re making $75 an hour.

It’s all about perspective and expectations.

Yes, I agree that it’s only low if you assume it’ll take a long time. However, the work you’re asking for sounds like something that couldn’t possibly be completed in just an hour or two. In other words, you should be assuming it’ll take a long time.

I might consider helping you, assuming I have the skill to do it. I only have couple of years experience with rpg maker and is by no means an expert. But I have already created an Elemental Bender class for my latest game in form of the Monk. So there is a chance some of that work might benefit your project.

Any experienced developer should have a reasonable expectation that any coding project involving a custom game engine is going to require multiple days of labor, not hours. An inexperienced developer will think that any system that’s easy to describe in English must also be easy to code, which is very far from the truth.

Do you mind if I Private Message you?
Don’t expect to work for any more than 2 hours at most. I’m paying for your time not for task completion, so even if a task doesn’t get done it won’t be an issue.
Expect very little customization (if any at all, and honestly unless you find the customization in question to be easy to do, i’ll take care of it myself.)

The only think I can think of that might be relatively challenging is I want to implement a Morality System, where the players actions affect NPCs and the player’s attacks. I’m okay with not putting it in the game tbh, it’s a want not a need.

You can send me private message if you want.

Though I am not entirely sure I am capable of producing what you as for. I can’t really code and I am only really proficient in Rpg Maker MV and MZ. What I can do is work within the engine and my knowledge of how to use it.

Would kinda want to see the tabletop rpg you want me convert. If I can do the jo kinda depends on what exactly you want me to do.
