Vision for future AGM console ports

I remember that before AGM was born, Pixel Game Maker MV offered a project plan to allow GGG to port games to consoles. At the time, many excellent titles successfully launched on the Switch, which was fantastic. However, this service has now ended in 2025.

Around the same time, in 2024, Mr. Mori, a producer at KADOKAWA Corporation, mentioned that they would collaborate with W4 in the future to enable projects developed using AGM to be released on console platforms, as a continuation of PGM. Below is the news from that time:

This is a wonderful vision, and I think many people share the dream of having their own games released on their favorite consoles.
The producer mentioned at the time that the goal was to achieve this by 2026. Of course, this is just a vision, and currently, AGM seems more focused on its 2.0 updates.
In my opinion, achieving this goal by 2026 seems unlikely given the current pace.

I really, really, really hope that this project is still in progress and will eventually be realized in the future.
This would greatly boost everyone’s creative enthusiasm and determination. I look forward to the day when this becomes a reality!

Thanks for your continued interest in console porting!

Unfortunately, our announcement at that time has not changed.

There’s a number of complex issues involving console ports, and resolving all of them to everyone’s satisfaction is taking time.

We’re sorry for the lack of visible progress, but we are still trying to make it happen.

As long as progress is being made, it’s a good thing. I believe AGM is a long-term software engineering project that will continue to gradually improve.

Previously, I saw some users complaining on X’s official account that AGM’s development projects could not be launched on consoles.
I believe that when this feature is successfully announced in the future, it will attract more potential users to support and purchase AGM.

We released more than 60 games on the Nintendo Switch that were made with Pixel Game Maker MV. And we would have released even more if the program had not had to end!

So we fully agree that a lot of people would be very excited for console port function with Action Game Maker.

Hopefully we can make it happen sooner rather than later!
