About the Menu Scene

Create an object with a sprite like pic_01 and place connection points.

I created a menu scene and placed the pic_01 object in it.

I set it up so that pressing a key displays the menu scene, with the intention of generating another object at the connection points indicated in pic_01. However, the result is that the object is generated at the location marked “here” in pic_03, and it appears below the tiles. Additionally, the error message “<item_base> does not exist in the Parallax2D layer. Place it on the 0th Parallax2D layer.” is displayed.

(item_base is the name of the object shown in pic_01)

How can I place the item_base in the menu scene onto the 0th Parallax2D layer?

Also, why is the position of the object being generated by specifying the connection point offset, causing it to appear below the tiles?

I’m not sure about this, so could you please explain?

So I don’t think this is a bug. A menu just needs one extra setting before it can spawn objects.

A menu scene is drawn on the screen (UI layer), not on the map. “Generate Object” puts the new object on the same Parallax2D layer as the object that spawns it. item_base is inside the menu, so it has no Parallax2D layer. That is why you see the error, and why the new object goes onto the map, in the wrong position and behind the tiles.

To spawn objects inside a menu, add an Object Mount Target:

  1. Open item_base and add an Object Mount Target with “設定を追加” (Add Settings).
  2. Give the Object Mount Target a Mount ID, for example “menu_item”.
  3. In your “Generate Object” action, change the position type to the Mount ID option and enter the same Mount ID.
  4. Keep “Use Connector” turned on, with your connection point (接続点) selected.

I tested this in 2.0.5. A is your current setup. B uses only a Mount ID, so the object appears on the Object Mount Target. C uses a Mount ID and a connection point, so the object appears on the connection point, inside the menu:
