Efficient Scene Organization Methods

I’ve been using Action Game Maker for about half a month now. I’m nearing the end of the tutorial, but…

All the scenes I’ve created—characters, stages, bullets, enemies, title—are mixed together, and I’m struggling with how to organize them properly for future projects. By the time I finish, I imagine there will be an enormous number of tags lined up horizontally…

I did see in the tutorial something like “it’s better to organize things properly at the beginning,” but if there’s a way to neatly organize these tags (like separating them by purpose and being able to switch their visibility), I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know.

Here are some handy hotkeys for tags.

  • You can close a tab by middle-clicking the mouse.

  • Right-clicking displays many options for closing tabs, such as “Close All,” “Close Others,” and “Close All to the Right.”

Additionally, using the companion plugin for Script-IDE allows you to quickly switch between tabs, making repetitive tasks easier.

A personal tip: Before starting work on systems or characters, close all unrelated tabs. However, keep one game scene open—usually a test scene.

I hope this helps a little!

Thank you for the information. I’m really glad to receive the advice I was looking for.

Although I’m still feeling my way around, I’ll try to build it step by step.
