When 3D Peach hosts a space gala to celebrate Penny Crygor and her friends defeating Fantasia the Shadow Entity (a villain that kept getting in Paper Rosa’s and 3D Peach’s hair prior to this), the event is ruined by the Shadow Queen, who casts a spell that will place 3D Peach in an everlasting sleep after a week has passed. Despite Paper Rosalina’s successful efforts to make a cure before the spell takes effect, Shadow Queen fulfils her prophecy before Paper Rosalina could use the cure, leaving 3D Peach trapped in sleep, unable to wake up.The Paper Planet is cloaked in shadow shortly after an ambush on the heroes from Shadow Queen was successful, whilst the witch steals some of their essence. Our heroes, now weakened, must find the Light Spheres with the guidance of a mysterious lady named Malaina in order to repel the Mistress of Shadows’ darkness and retrieve the Tabuu Fruit needed to awaken 3D Peach before the Shadow Queen corrupts them via their stolen essence, mixed with the witch’s malevolent magic.
Journey across the Paper Planet with 3D Mario and his crew in search of the Light Spheres with Malaina’s guidance, and most importantly, the Tabuu Fruit. However, it will not be easy. Shadow Queen won’t hesitate to send hordes of shadow minions to stop you from saving the Paper Planet from eternal darkness and 3D Peach from her everlasting sleep.
Strategise using each hero’s abilities to achieve victory! You can only pick 3 heroes per battle at a time.
Stock up on healing items if magic alone isn’t enough to secure survival!
Talk to Rodger, the Archaeology Toad, if your heroes ever need a Pick-Me-Up!
Don’t stay outside of “safe zones” for too long! Make sure you travel from town to town as quickly as possible!
This game intends to take a mixed approach. Whilst some areas are story-heavy, don’t let your guard down when the time comes to do battle.

THE CAST
3D Peach: 3D Peach is the troubled princess and one of the 3D World evacuees. Upon arriving into the Paper Planet after narrowly escaping the 3D World’s apocalypse, she was sheltered by Paper Rosalina and now resides with her and Rose in the Comet Observatory. Her curse, a fragment of Majora’s Mask’s power, has made her a target of various villains because it can bring out the worst in her.
Paper Rosalina: Paper Rosalina is the adoptive mother of Rose and the Lumas, whilst also serving as 3D Peach’s guardian. She worries massively for the princess and only wants her to be safe. If she finds out that 3D Peach has been hurt, she will not hesitate to take action against those that have harmed her, no matter the cost.
Agent 3: Agent 3 is the captain of the “New Squidbeak Splatoon”. Arriving to the Paper Planet in 2022, she’s always up to helping 3D Peach and her friends when called upon.
3D Mario: 3D Mario is widely recognised as the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, but he is also one of the 3D World’s evacuees. He’s been a friend of 3D Peach since childhood, always striving to keep her safe. [NO PROFILE SPRITE FOR MARIO YET]
Lumalee: Lumalee is one of many Lumas at the Comet Observatory. Like in the movies, this Luma is soooo obsessed with death… [NO PROFILE SPRITE FOR LUMALEE YET]
Luma: Lumas are the starchildren of the Comet Observatory. They have been raised and looked after by Paper Rosalina. [NO PROFILE SPRITE FOR LUMA YET]
Penny: Penny Crygor is known to Paper Rosalina and her friends as a hero who stopped Fantasia the Shadow Entity. They are massively thankful towards her, since Fantasia would not leave 3D Peach and Paper Rosalina alone.
Rose: Rose is Paper Rosalina’s adopted daughter. Not much is known about her, but she is recognised as a human Luma. She has been around since before 3D Peach was taken in.
Toadette: Toadette is a really good friend of Paper Peach. She has a rivalry towards Penny and acts hostile towards her, which the heroes STRONGLY disapprove of. [NO PROFILE SPRITE FOR TOADETTE YET]
Malaina: A mysterious person who comes from afar. Nobody knows who she is, nor do they know how she knows about the planet’s recent predicament and how to combat it…
Shadow Queen: The Shadow Queen is the main antagonist of the story. She is heavily likened to Maleficent, mostly because she acts like the Disney villain. She fled her reality with her host body and spent a lot of time thinking over how to cloak the world in darkness, as well as renewing her personality to how it is now.
C.S.: C.S., or Corrupted Sunday, arrived to the Paper Planet after coming across what looks like a microphone made of origami.

some advanced notice:
on july 7th, all development will be halted for 9 days as i’m jetting off to lanzarote for that time period. i might return to development on the 16th when i return, but a return on the 17th is more likely.

today’s the last day before i go on holiday! sorry i’ve not been working on the game recently, been doing stuff irl and watching the england match (which required me to take a couple hour’s nap beforehand and stay awake until the match ended at 4:10AM BST

Hi, how is development going? Is it a game for fun or do you plan on a commercial release?
It’s purely being made for fun. This game once was a roleplay I did on Roblox back in 2023, but the company decided to be stupid and break the trust of its users back in late 2025 by banning someone trying to make the platform safer, which eventually led to me cutting ties with the platform entirely at the end of 2025. I couldn’t bear the thought of this AU being on Roblox anymore, which is why I bought MZ to immortalise some of the AU’s best arcs.
Right now I am trying to bring myself to developing regularly again since I just got back from holiday but rest assured I am still committed to getting this done by its planned release date.
I see, personnally, I find it more motivating and exciting to try a commercial release. It brings stakes.
Yeah, I have noticed that game dev has ups and downs. Sometimes, it can be hard to find motivation to work on the game. But slow and steady is better than intense but unsteady I think.
What is a commercial release exactly? Like a trailer?
Commercial release just means releasing it for sale rather than for free.
Considering the usage of IP in this game, though, I don’t think you could do that even if you wanted to.
