Crash when firing bullets that include sublayers

When firing a bullet that generates objects from a sublayer in the project I am currently developing, the game crashes without any error logs.
I am unsure of the exact cause and am struggling to find a solution.

I would appreciate it if you could check the above file.

  • The target bullet in the above project is “ArcherBullet_3.tscn”.
  • When you hold down the X button to charge and reach full charge, the bullet flies while generating objects.
  • Currently, the settings are configured to make crashes most likely to occur.
Changing the generated objects or increasing the generation interval can reduce the likelihood of crashes.
(However, in that case, it becomes unclear when crashes will occur.)
  • The objects being generated are not originally the ones that cause crashes.
  • If the object generation action is skipped within the sublayer, crashes do not occur.

At this point, the only possibility I can think of is generation from the sublayer. What do you think?

After investigation, I found that there are no elements that would cause a crash when generated in the sublayer. However, since crashes are actually occurring, I believe this is likely due to multiple contributing factors, so I will conduct further research.

I see. It appears to be a crash caused by attempting to generate from a disappearing projectile.

Due to execution order, in sublayers, the event “generate simultaneously with disappearance” can occur, which seems to be the cause. I’ve identified a fix, so I’ll aim to update it in the next patch, assuming there are no major issues.

Thank you for checking! It’s also helpful that the reason has been identified!

We have released version 2.0.2 to address these issues.
