Steam Page for RPG Maker U2U is up & taking wishlists

They clarified in the announcement post for the Steam page, that U2U would be a standalone editor, like MV & MZ, and NOT a unity plugin like Unite.

I just learned about this in Nerd’s stream and I’m super excited for when it comes out (and hello; it’s been awhile)! :waving_hand:

I’m looking forward to it :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m eager to learn more details beyond the maps, such as whether P2D can be used for visual spatial representation in battle scenes, and whether UI and other layout designs can be crafted with “care and attention to detail.”

Since it says “coming soon,” I understand that immediate requests won’t be accepted, but personally, I’d love it if the side-view battle animations could be “quickly created” using the traditional character sheet method, or if the “crafted with care” option allowed for individual motion editing via an animation editor, similar to Act2MV.

I also hope to see enhancements to the capacity and features of the 2D animation editor, beyond just particle effects. (I know it’s a bit late to ask now )

I hope that the “I wish this feature existed” ideas that many users desired in MV and MZ will be realized in U2U

That’s a big change to standalone.
I’m really looking forward to it.

The idea of being a Unity Plugin was my main gripe with it.

Now I’m kinda excited. I’m really curious about how these P2D maps work and how the regular MZ resources will be used.

I wonder if it’s realistic to hope we’ll be able to port MV/MZ projects and plugins easily.

The page says you can’t.

Ah I didn’t see it mentioned. Which page?

On Steam.

Is U2U going to be steam only? I may have missed that information, but I didn’t see any other platforms announced.

I see it now. That kinda stinks but it also prevents me from trying to port my game and redo the whole this like that :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Instead I’ll have to use it for the sequel or something.

People have made unofficial tools in the past to convert VX Ace projects to MV (works pretty well) and even XP to MV (works less well). I wouldn’t be surprised if, in the future, someone made a tool to convert MZ projects to U2U.
