is https://charas-project.net/ down atm?
I was trying to get some sprites from it to start game dev with rm2k…
I have most of their chipsets, but I still need their sprites.
It’s not down, it’s only the HTTPS side that is broken. I checked it just now from outside: port 443 refuses the connection outright with ECONNREFUSED, so nothing is listening for https at all, while plain http answers normally with a 200 and the full page.
So https://charas-project.net/ will always fail for you, and http://charas-project.net/ works. The chara generator you’re after is at Charas, rpgmaker, the chara generator and the forum is at Charas-Project - Index
The likely reason it looks dead to you rather than just insecure is that most browsers now silently upgrade a typed address to https, and some refuse to fall back. Typing the http address in full, or clicking through the “continue to site” warning, usually gets round it. The server is old enough that this is probably not going to be fixed soon, it reports Apache 2.2 on CentOS.
