AI Disclosure:
All Themes Songs are written by me, Zack (from RPG Refuge forums) as Acapella, then converted into studio version using Suno. I also used AI to help code the Lore Archive, from where I learnt how to code some stuffs myself.
Myth:
A Goddess gave herself spread into countless shards to save the worlds, and a Hero has to and must journey through countless lifetimes to bring her back. It’s a very sad story almost all throughout, but I am already designing a very thorough and wonderful happy ending.
Major Plotline:
In the world where skies could fall and oceans could catch fire, heroes and villains alike heard the calls of their destiny. Will they resign to their fate, or will they stand proud and fight on for their destiny of forevermore. For conquest. Or for each other. The story takes place in a planet named Merizoria. 3000 years ago, a huge spacecraft, inhabited by sentient species called human race, crashed on Merizoria. Those humans, led by several really powerful scientists and warriors, decided to make Merizoria their new home, since the Planet Marzhe, when they left it, was on the brink of total destruction. A new place to call home. The humans renamed themselves as Manu because they want to remind themselves how “manual souls” defeated the Supreme A.I., which almost wiped out the entire human race, before the Manuese departed from Marzhe in search of new home. The Manuese have set up a few civilisations around Merizoria. Tensions rise among the nations in Merizoria. Will mankind once again bring upon themselves the tragedy?
Story:
Navigate through Christan Lulian Lowa who works as mercenary in order to fund his younger adopted sister’s, Christella Lilian Lowa, study and training in a prestigious Martial Magic Academy named Grandlamp Starlighters Cradlebright. Help bring the Graveyard Warlock to justice, push back the Saberogue pirates, travel as research aide for Professor Shirin, conquer all the 19 Dojos around the continent of Afrorika in Merizoria, solve many riddles of the Merizorian lores, join the Adventurers Guild and try to reach the Paragon Rank, all the while trying to find their missing adopted parents Chrossant Leonus Lowa, and Luxraeh Vellarennia Ursohla. Christan would later foresaw that one day, his world Merizoria, would be engulfed in great wars, decimating most of the inhabitants. The world would later be named as Earth by the surviving heroes and believers, that the world would learn lessons from their civilisations failure. The heroes misspelled the word Heart, because it was supposed to remind everyone that the real wars happen within the hearts. Because of this misspelling, everyone thought that the Elthrillions that they were looking for can only be acquired through material sciences, and also by breaking the laws of nature. But Christan, and his sister Christella, would later see that, amidst the hardest battle, the hardest heart can win and will win any war.
Inspiration for this project:
The game is loosely based on the folklore and myths of Kadazandusun tribes in Sabah, Malaysia whereby I spice them up with European and Oriental myths heavily. Hydro Rhythm - The Thunder before the Prom is the first installment in my Hydro Rhythm series. Its story and mechanic is heavily inspired by Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9, Suikoden 1 and 2, Golden Sun 1 and 2.
At first, I didn’t know what to call this first game. But after watching Spiderman Homecoming, I quickly got idea to name it The Thunder before the Prom. It sort of emphasises on Christan and Christella journey as freelance mightspellist (Mightspellist is a term I coined for this story, ppl in the game call anyone who are mercenary with formidable martial and magic arts mightspellist). The Prom night designates the ending as a wonderful dance party after Christan ,Christella and their comrades and friends go through so much ordeals before reaching and attending the prom night of the Grandlamp Starlighters Cradlebright academy.
