Fun fact: P1 is more official than RPGMakerWeb
GGG employees are actively running events on P1.
GGG is directly involved in the forum management.
On the other hand, the Komodo self-claimed “official forum” doesn’t even have any GGG personels actively running day-to-day administration.

Having an extra forum isn’t a bad thing; at least this forum allows authors from other countries to be heard.
I mean, Komodo/Degica had the license before GGG existed, acquired from either Enterbrain or Kadokawa. They weren’t self-proclaimed, they were the distributors, and were managing the brand in the West. Their forum was official because they had the rights to.
Now it’s not “self-proclaimed” either, just not official anymore since they lost those rights. And unfortunately that also means they must close the place, for whatever legal mumbo jumbo we’ll never know of, only speculate forever.

Anyway I’ve been trying to look into Project1 today just out of curiosity (with machine translation, as my Chinese is non-existant). I feel so lost lol.
That is kind the biggest positive I can see coming from this change. It does allow my work to be more visible to asian audiences and it will allow for communication with oversees RPG Maker users that was not around before. Its a perk with unifying the western and asian RPG Maker communities.

Kadakowa has owned RM since it’s inception… license never really moved around.
